Curious what Shin-chan’s favourite food tastes like?

From Kuroko no Basuke / The Basketball which Kuroko Plays 黒子のバスケ manga. The product is based on sharp 3-point shooter Midorima Shintarou’s 緑間真太郎 favourite food, red bean soup. Each box costs 800 yen, and serves 1 portion (160g). It comes with 1 out of 2 illustration sheet.

Front of box (see inset)

Back of box (see inset) Instructions on preparation. There are 2 ways to heat it. Remove the package from the box. You can either boil 0the unopened package in hot water for 5-7 minutes or pop it into the microwave for 1 minute.

I got the Kagami x Kuroko illustration :P The other variation is that of Takao and Shin-chan.

The package is about 20 cm long. The soup should have been housed in a can as shown in the original illustration for more authenticity but I guess it’ll probably be more expensive to manufacture.

Heating up…

There’s very little soup for a 800 Yen package…

Simply unappetizing lol~ ^^;;

And there was only ONE tiny rice dumpling/dango 団子 in the package lololol~

My expression is the same as Kagami’s below after eating it lolol.

Verdict:

The taste was so artificially sweet I can’t even bear to take a second scoop out of the icky looking “broth” orz;;; And the rice dumpling tasted like flour and crumbled inside my mouth. Ewww. For the same amount of money I could have had something similar but much much better at a local Japanese sweets cafe ^^;;; So that’s that for letting curiosity get the better of me. So no loss if you haven’t tried this!
