Available: 19 January 2012

Rating: 15 and up
Player: 1 person
Official site: http://www.otomate.jp/kannou/

Description: Featuring a delectable cast of seiyuus narrating seven delicious and sensuous fairy-tales and folklore, selected from popular drama CD series Kannou Mukashibanashi (官能昔話)

In the game, the player will become the heroine in the stories. With help from the navigator (CV: Inoue Kazuhiko 井上和彦), you shall enter the seven worlds of Kannou Mukashibanashi. Depending on your choices, endings different from the original tales await you…

The sound is also recorded with 3D dummy head microphone. Similar to the CD, you’ll be able to enjoy the effects using headphones.

Stories include:

1) One-Inch Boy /Issun boshi 一寸法師 (Narrator: Suzuki Tatsuhisa, 鈴木達央) Japanese Fariy Tale about a boy who is only one-inch tall.
2) The Little Mermaid 人魚姫 (Narrator: Sakurai Takahiro 櫻井孝宏) For this alone, I’ll buy the game OTL;;; The prince, Sakupyon did stuff to the little mermaid.
3) Banchou Sarayashiki (Narrator: Shimono Hiro 下野紘) Banchou Sarayashiki (番町皿屋敷, The Dish Mansion at Banchou) is a Japanese ghost story of love separated by social class, broken trust and broken promises, leading to a dismal fate.
4) Hansel and Gretel ヘンゼルとグレーテル(Narrator: Toriumi Kousuke 鳥海浩輔) This Grimm Brothers fairy tale was REALLY hot, with Torikou as Hansel doing seemingly incestuous things with Gretel.
5) Leda and The Swan レダと白鳥 (Narrator: Kondou Takashi 近藤隆) By William Butler Yeats.
6) Hosokawa Tadaoki 細川忠興 (Narrator: Hirakawa Daisuke 平川大輔) Japanese historical figure. Hirarin smexed listener in the CD (^///^)
7) The Blue Beard 青ひげ (Narrator: Morikubo Shoutarou 森久保祥太郎) La Barbe Bleue

The limited edition comes with an artbook of Japanese folk tale, Momo-taro (Peach boy) 官能劇場桃太郎」(オールキャストサイン&コメント付き) and drama cd 官能劇場 桃太郎.

Here’s the B’s-Log Magazine December 2011 sneak peak about this game.

Having gorgeous artwork is definitely a major plus.

Drools :D~

Information about Isshun Boshi, narrated by Suzuki Tatsuhisa.

Supporting cast includes: Toriumi Kousuke, Inoue Kazuhiko and Morikubo Shoutarou. They’ll be voicing new characters not from the original story.

Pretty artwork. Yep, the player is that girl by his side :3

Feature on the next story, The Little Mermaid, narrated by Sakurai Takahiro.

So pretty~ :D The story is given a new twist. Instead of the Little Mermaid becoming human, the prince becomes a merman!

Supporting cast. The King (Inoue Kazuhiko) and the witch (Hirakawa Daisuke).

Preorder bonus CD is one of Aesop’s Fables The North Wind and the Sun, narrated by Inoue Kazuhiko and Morikubo Shoutarou

Limited edition special drama CD, Momo-taro. Next issue of B’s-Log will have more information about the rest of the stories.

HOLY XXYYZZZ I’m tempted to buy this game even though I don’t have a PSP OTL;;; partly because I enjoyed the CDs quite a lot. Getting it from CDJapan and selected stores will include individual store original bonuses.

There’s also a collection of all the released CDs in a limited edition CD box to commemorate the sale of the game. I already bought a few of the CDs, separately, so I’ll be giving this a miss, partly due to lack of budget.

  1. Omg. My wallet…is going to die. I have been spending a lot on figurines lately. There’s Akira coming out next year to kill me too…And am saving up for the VF Animix….

Wait, does that mean if we buy from CD Japan, we will have the pre-order bonus cd no matter which edition we buy? :0

  2. Luckily a Canadia one looks very promising. Will preorder once I get my first paycheck in December xD And yes, they chose that date on purpose, i guess, Aksys are promoting the dating-sim aspect quite a bit and trying to appeal to girls, of course~

We lack a Heisuke, sadly. But we have the blond demon, so I am happy xDDDD And yay, bishies *A*

    1. @Celestie: Glad to know that! Mmm I hope hope Aksys have success and open doors to more quality visual novel game localisation for girl :)

Aww~ maybe you can find a Heisuke cosplayer during the event and get him/her to join you for the shoot :D

  3. OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO—————–!!! ITS A HEAVEN!!! ALL OF MY FAVORITE SEIYUU(s) ARE THERE!!!! ARGHHHH!!! wait, why does i recognize the artwork…? it looks like the artist of shinrei tantei Yakumo… or maybe only my imagination? :D YOSH! FORGET ABOUT STRESS WHEN I CAN GET THIS GAME OVER MY LOVELY PSP! *sorry Black rock shooter the game, you have to wait*

  4. @ponytale
Apparently Hakuoki will be released on February 14th (*nudgenudge* xD) Though i just ran into a problem that Amazon.com doesn’t/isn’t allowed to ship video games to germany. Generally Aksys of course didn’t plan to sell it overseas, people just buy them. xD Maybe the Canadian game shop can help me there…

Oh, since my friends are pro-cosplayers and want to cosplay Hakuoki, I am going to be their Chizuru……xDDDD

    1. @Calestie: Wow released on Valentine’s day! <3 Oh my… think you can find other game sites that ship to Germany?

Wow~ you're a lucky girl XD Chizuru is surrounded by all the bishies hehehe

  5. @ponytale: how nice. i really want the limited edition too…

And yeah, Japanese PSP games tend to be priced that high. For US, PS3 games are $60 (brand new) and PSP games range from $30-$40 for a new one. That’s why when I look at prices for Japanese games, I’m just like @___@; holy shit, cost too much for just a PSP game! If only they released it in eng translation, it’d save me a lot of money :D

And the game looks so interesting and the art is so pretty. I want to play the Mermaid route~

    1. @momo: Yeah… when the general games go on sale, they’re really cheap tho… but we always get suckered into buying because of the first-press or limited edition label for fear of losing out ^^;;

However, BL games don’t ever go on sale since I think they’re produced in limited quantities.perhaps :P

What a cute twist too ^^ The prince becomes the merman XDD

  6. I don’t own a PSP but my… With THAT cast I wouldn’t mind getting the game first and then the PSP XDDDDD.

But I’m already saving for Pokemon Black XD.

Anyway, this looks waaaaaay too good xDDDD.

    1. @Asamisa: I’ve done that for the Togainu no Chi and Durarara!! PSP game I bought OTL;; I think I’ll most likely buy PSP Vita when its out :) I generally don’t have much time for games tho ^^;;

  7. Ahh, this looks way too sexy! My wallet is seriously aching though… Oww…

I haven’t heard any of the CDs from this series yet, so the CD box is so tempting–! Every time I hear ‘limited edition’, I die a little on the inside…

    1. @Puchi: They definitely nice to haves… but if reality sucks… lack of $$$ :( I’m a sucker for limited editions too (ToT) so I’m struggling not to get the special box CDs since I already bought a few of them separately.

    1. @Mayon: yep having lovely illustrations to accompany the voices! I succumbed to the temptation…

Lol xD yeah but in this case, the prince gained a tail instead!

  8. *looks at purse* Hm. Calendar purchase and magazine purchase (though I think they can’t restock the Dengeki GS November I ordered, so I get my money back on that if they can’t) and planned to get English Hakuoki when I get a PSP and buy fabric for my first cosplay ever….errrrrrrrrrrr. BUT SO TEMPTING <3

  9. The art is pretty and I love folk tale! But omg….first press edition~ I want! But -___-; this is so GODAMN expensive! I have a PSP but lol, the game almost costs just as much as a PSP nowadays….-0-;

/sigh…I’ll have to see if its possible to get this or not :D

    1. @momo: I ordered the game first and will keep my fingers crossed that I don’t haveto cancel it ^^;; but I’m curious tho… Supposedly limited edition Japanese games are always priced like this. English games are much cheaper right?

  10. HNGGG!! ffffff lol sorry for the spam.
Omg Hirarin!!~ I want him so much. And he strikes it again just like shukan soine~ XD
Who knows, maybe he might be doing similar roles again and -smex- the listener again in near future pfft. Awesome seiyuu cast though!
Just wondering, is Wacchan featured in this too?

Wants this game so badly. Too bad my psp was damaged a long time ago. D:

    1. @Liru: HE DID, didn’t he! He smexed the heroine hard :D

Unfortunately Waccha isn’t :( I was also hoping to hear him impregnate Rapunzel again :P

I got to buy a PSP too.

  11. Fufu~ I’ve been having a feeling that this would be otomate’s next big hit since they announced it a long time ago. Was the mermaid story a part of the drama CDs?
Ah, and just so you know, the heroine change appearance depending on what story she is in! A PSP is pretty cheap these days ya’know? (●´∀`●)

    1. @Yumii: Yeah, I enjoyed the CDs a lot :D the Mermaid story is from the Hans Anderson CD. IT IS SAKUPYON SMEX. I bought the Grimm Brother’s fairy tales and the Hans Anderson one.

Hehe yeah, the heroine has to cos she is in different worlds right? XDD Ah~ I know…if I buy less goods then I can afford it… chicken and egg OTL;; But I think I’ll want to get the PSP Vita when its available next year :3
