Cosplay: Eye popping Puella Magi Madoka Magica cosplay

Very popular magical girls deconstruction anime Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica 魔法少女まどか☆マギカ cosplay.

Somebody mentioned it looked like lion dance lol~

Amazing and cute.

Did you watch the anime? I’m planning to do that if I can find the time.

Plot summary from wikipedia:
There exist strange creatures who have the power to grant one wish to a chosen girl. However, in exchange, that girl must then become a Puella Magi, a girl with magical powers, and fight against witches, evil creatures born from darkness that are responsible for murders and suicides. In the city of Mitakihara, a schoolgirl named Madoka Kaname and her friend Sayaka Miki are approached by a familiar named Kyubey, who offers to grant them each one wish in return for making them Puella Magi. Another Puella Magi named Homura Akemi tries to prevent Madoka from making such a deal, while Kyubey urges Madoka by telling her she will become the most powerful Puella Magi. However unlike the glamorous notions of becoming a magical girl, the Puella Magi find themselves dealing with death, isolation, the value of their wishes, and existential crises. Madoka, following her Puella Magi friends, soon sees the darker side of being a Puella Magi, and despite knowing the truth of the existence of the Puella Magi, still questions if she should become a Puella Magi as well.

  1. I personally loved it, you should try watching it too ponytale~As extra incentive the script is written by Gen Urobuchi of Nitro+ (also consultant for Sweet Pool).
I personally got spoiled there as well (curse the speed news travels round the internet…) but it doesn’t decrease the degree of awesomeness!

  2. Magical girls aren’t really my thing since I’ve grown out of my kiddy stages. However this is still a great show in my opinion and is totally not intended for kids. After episode 3 I really got caught into the series and had to watch it till the end after episode 10.

    1. @bt_tara: I’ll definitely try to watch it! :D I’m also aware it is creating quite a buzz for its plot. Thanks for the recommendation!

  3. Well, ponytale, I really love the show ( even though i’m a fujoushi). What i like about the show is that it’s super moe, but at the same time it’s a dark magical girl show. I promise you will love it! ^ _ ^ My fav character is Mami ( the cosplyer above)

  5. The cosplay is funny,
I have only watched episode one( and the one episode related to the cosplay above) of this series but i was multitasking at the time so i don’t remember much. I love very much the music and weird animation graphics.
Been thinking of getting the nendoroid because it’s so cute with the strange animal. X3

  6. Ah, D.N. Angel too :3 Maybe Monochrome Factor (at least the main characters has some sort of transformation before he goes into battle)?
But I haven’t heard much about series about magical boys :/

    1. @Sug: I didn’t watch those animes either ^^;;

I think maybe the mainstream magical girls’ boys equivalent are the mecha animes :P or maybe even Ultraman? (But ultraman are aliens?)

    1. @Sug: Ooo I liked star driver :D didn’t think of it as magical boys but you’re spot on! Anyway, I’m also hoping they come up with nicer figures of the boys… what other anime have magical boys?

    1. @Oru Ooo that sucks lol but it’s ok I guess. I wasn’t planning to watch it at first but my cousin highly recommended to me. Magical girls anime aren’t usually my thing either. Which kinda reminds me… Magical boys anime… Do they exist?
