Anime: K (Namikawa Daisuke, Ono Daisuke)

Blushing bishie hug. Bet you didn’t see that coming from the new shounen sci-fi action anime, K

But I guess the power of fujoshi dollar is too strong to ignore… The white-haired bishie, Isana Yashiro is in the arms of this guy, Yatogami Kuroh.

Yep, in this scene. Seiyuu cast-wise, it’s Ono Daisuke x Namikawa Daisuke.

Title: K
Broadcast date: 4 October 2012
Update 2013: Season 2 is announced! :D
Official site: http://k-project.jpn.com/

Summary (from wikipedia/ANN):
Ashinaka High School is known for its unique setting: the entire campus is built on an island. Isana Yashiro, aka Shiro, is having lunch with a cat on one of the school rooftops. After his lunch break, Shiro goes on an errand for his classmate Kukuri to prepare for their upcoming school festival, only to be chased by some intimidating-looking men.

K is a 2012 anime series animated by the studio GoHands and directed by Suzuki Shingo, who also serves as character designer for the series. It began airing on MBS, TBS, and CBC in Japan on October 4, 2012. Animax Asia will also broadcast at the same time. A manga prequel called K: Memory of Red, drawn by Kuroe Yui has been serialized in Kodansha’s Aria since May 28, 2012. The anime has been licensed by Viz Media in North America, who will also stream the series on VizAnime video site.

For the seiyuu fangirls, this anime is a must-watch as it features a dream cast of the most popular and hottest seiyuus now, including Fukuyama Jun, Tsuda Kenjiro, Miyano Mamoru, Sakurai Takahiro, Sugita Tomokazu, Nakamura Yuuichi, etc.

A plethora of bishie types to suit your tastes.

Ah I see you noticed it too. Yes, that’s a Heiwajima Shizuo lookalike right there.

And don’t forget the megane bishie clad in uniform for additional moe-points. (and don’t forget that sword too)

And from what I saw from the first episode, the animation quality and fluid fighting sequences are also fantastic. Looks even more impressive than the anime’s demo reels I’ve seen earlier.

Standard moon behind sword user pose but who cares. It looks oh so delicious!

Check out the fireworks between these 2 bishies!

Anyway it’s too early to tell if the plot would be just as impressive from what we see from the first episode but it definitely has potential. It seems that ditsy, white-haired bishie has a hidden/dual evil personality and everyone is after him for certain horrible deeds he committed, that which he has no memory of.

I only listed the character moe-points for BL fangirls, but of course there are other elements that should attract the male fans too, like a cute goth-loli with mind-reading powers, and sexy (nude and well-endowed) cat-girl, etc.

Can’t remember what these are. Some kind of headquarters of the reigning/governing kings?

Here’s a quick relationship chart.

Cast:

Namikawa Daisuke as Isana Yashiro 伊佐那 社
Daisuke Ono as Yatogami Kuroh 夜刀神 狗朗
Fukuyama Jun as Yata Misaki 八田 美咲
Tsuda Kenjiro as Suoh Mikoto 周防 尊
Miyano Mamoru as Fushimi Saruhiko 伏見 猿比古
Komatsu Mikako as Neko ネコ
Sawashiro Miyuki as Awashima Seri 淡島 世理
Satou Satomi as Yukizome Kukuri 雪染 菊理,
Sakurai Takahiro as Kusanagi Izumo 草薙 出雲
Sugita Tomokazu as Munakata Reishi 宗像 礼司
Horie Yui as Kushina Anna 櫛名 アンナ
Nakamura Yuuichi as Kamamoto Rikio 鎌本 力夫
Kaji Yuuki as Totsuka Tatara 十束 多々良

Iizuka Shozo as Kokujouji Daikaku 國常路 大覚
Kakihara Tetsuya as Adolf K. Weisman

And more BL hints from the opening… but of course you can just intepret it as potential bromance.

  1. I’m loving the mystery of this series. The recent episode with the megan (crazy) sword guy was amazing. Mamoru vs yuuki!!*Q* I couldn’t ask for more!! The fight scene was amazing! <3

    1. @dandycorsets: I want to watch it!!! I’ve been so busy with work and exams orz;;; hopefully I get some off time to do that soon :D mamoru’s character sure is Yandere lol

  2. Ahh I saw it, I really like it mainly for the eyecandy so there’s no complaining from me :) It’s something different from the harems and corny romantic-comedy that i’ve been seeing these few months. The first 2 episodes are sort of keeps you in suspense, and Kuroh is a unique character (even tho I’d still love him even if he was a stoic smirky guy but he’s different from a Kanda Yuu-like person) It’s so funny with him yelling ‘indecent!’ at Neko haha!

    1. @Joichi: lol xD I’m glad the anime seems to be ok so far. Hope it gets better and better. Any other anime you catching this season? I would like to share about some interesting ones but haven’t been able to find the time to complete the posts.

  3. I watched that. Plot is going no where so far. In fact I get the feeling it’ll go no where until it’s nearing the end. Also already planning to ship the skateboard guy with his old friend just waiting for them to interact.

    1. @iced_wine: enjoy! Yeah I know about Diabolik Lovers. Do-S vampires lol. No time to write about them. What do you like to know? So far they have drama CDs and now a PSP game :)

    2. @iced_wine: The plot is kinda illogical like Vampire Knight :P Summary from the official website goes, you the protagonist’s father was relocated to another country due to work. And you are now staying at a mansion with 6 brothers who are the pinnacle of do-S and guess what, they’re all vampires! As you suffer the daily abuse and attack from each brother day-after-day, something awakens within you and you begin feel tiny little anticipation starting grow…

In other words, awakening of your do-M-ness lol. Yeah that’s more or less what it is about. The trading figures are cute though.

    3. @ponytale: haha, sounds like the typical otome male harem….still waiting to see a colored prototype of those trading figures though…colorful collection is such a hit or miss sometimes….
