Starry Sky Series Episode 4, volume 2 of Aquarius. This episode was rather slow-paced. After last week’s chibi cuteness overload, I had higher expectations, so I was a little disappointed. Generally it is still enjoyable as a heartwarming insight into Tsubasa’s story. Too short tho. I also realised from reading general comments about this anime is that it is boring. It is a purely fan service outing with just 10 minutes of pretty animation each week, so if you’re new to Starry Sky, it’s understandable if you can’t really get into the story or characters. Just enjoy the eye-candy I guess :3

I just caught the first episode on animate.tv and I’m very happy to announce…. the quality is very, very good!!! :D Although the anime looks simple, with slow panning shots, etc, they made good whatever little animation there was in the anime, walking, talking, blinking, etc. The characters were translated nicely into their anime versions and came alive because of the sheer prettiness of it all. Beautiful backgrounds and lovely colours! Almost every shot and angle looked lovingly drawn and animated. Pacing was ok too.

Each episode is about 11 minutes long (with opening and ending). Yep I just found that we can catch the first episode FREE. Sign up for a free account there.

My connection was kinda slow, so I try to forget the fact that I just spent 1+ hour trying to watch a 11 minute broadcast by compiling the screen caps of the first episode! Before I knew it, I actually took over 150 of them lol~. There are just too many pretty images! :P

Rating: Highly recommended (a must for cat lovers! Nyaa~ =^^= )

Quick Summary:
“Dear God, I wish for arms wide enough to hug him and the body and strength to protect him!”

Fuji (Kondou Takashi) is a stray cat. He loves a kind and gentle man, Hiro (Kamiya Hiroshi) who named him and feeds him everyday. Fuji notices that Hiro is in an on-and-off abusive relationship with a man (Horie Kazuma) and even witnesses the man using violence on Hiro. Although Fuji tried to stop the man, he could not do anything for Hiro because he is only a cat. One day, Fuji sees the bruises on Hiro again and he prays earnestly for the ability to protect his beloved Hiro. Amazingly, Fuji gets his wish!

Shima (Kishio Daisuke) is a cute but proud little kitten who comes by Hiro’s house occasionally for food. Like Fuji, Hiro was the one who gave him his name. One day, he decides to leave the place. Hungry and tired, he faints and accidentally falls into Taki’s (Nakamura Yuuichi) opened bag. When he wakes up hungry and smelly, Taki makes fun of him but treats him kindly, feeding him milk and washing him. The next day, Taki leaves the window open while he goes to work. Taki’s ex-lover (Tachibana Shinnosuke) visits, hoping to apologise to him for ending their relationship. Coincidentally, his name is also Shima…
