Hakuouki (薄桜鬼) figures look similar to the Harutoki (遙かなる時空の中で) figures which were also made by Kotobukiya.

Like a BOSS. The illustration looks so much better. I’m disappointed.

Angle and close up. Hmm… the mouth seems a little wide.

His sitting position looks stiff compared to the illustration. Might be the angle the photo is taken.

Side by side comparison of the unpainted figure. The sculpted face doesn’t capture the elegance and proud expression in the original illustration but this is just the prototype so we’ll have to wait and see. Otherwise the “Like a BOSS” sitting pose looks good.

The boys celebrating the new Dragon year in 2012!

It is common practice for Japanese to visit a shrine during the new year to pray for blessings. We can also visit Shiranui shrine (Starry☆Sky ～不知火神社～) to get our fortunes told :D I visited the Shrine in the evening after work lol~ :D The image changes depending on what time you visit.

Try your fortune for the year!

According to wiki, Omikuji (御御籤, 御神籤, or おみくじ) are random fortunes written on strips of paper at Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples in Japan. Literally “sacred lot”, these are usually received by making a small offering (generally a five-yen coin as it is considered good luck) and randomly choosing one from a box, hoping for the resulting fortune to be good. (As of 2011, coin-slot machines sometimes dispense omikuji.)

The omikuji is scrolled up or folded, and unrolling the piece of paper reveals the fortune written on it. It includes a general blessing which can be any one of the following:
* Great blessing (dai-kichi, 大吉)
* Middle blessing (chū-kichi, 中吉)
* Small blessing (shou-kichi, 小吉)
* Blessing (kichi, 吉)
* Half-blessing (han-kichi, 半吉)
* Future blessing (sue-kichi, 末吉)
* Future small blessing (sue-shou-kichi, 末小吉)
* Curse (kyou, 凶)
* Small curse (shou-kyou, 小凶)
* Half-curse (han-kyou, 半凶)
* Future curse (sue-kyou, 末凶)
* Great curse (dai-kyou, 大凶)

The omikuji predicts the person’s chances of his or her hopes coming true, of finding a good match, or generally matters of health, fortune, life, etc. When the prediction is bad, it is a custom to fold up the strip of paper and attach it to a pine tree or a wall of metal wires alongside other bad fortunes in the temple or shrine grounds. A purported reason for this custom is a pun on the word for pine tree (松 matsu) and the verb ‘to wait’ (待つ matsu), the idea being that the bad luck will wait by the tree rather than attach itself to the bearer. In the event of the fortune being good, the bearer has the option of tying it for the fortune to have a greater effect or can keep it for luck. Though nowadays this custom seems more of a children’s amusement, omikuji are available at most shrines, and remain one of the traditional activities related to shrine-going, if lesser. You’ll get a random result from Shiranui’s Shrine. There are quite a number of combination and different versions for similar fortunes but no “Great curse” lol~ ^^;;

Short story: 【薄桜鬼】　タイトル：薄桜鬼SSL番外編　ワイワイ★クリスマスはサバイバー！

街を歩けば、色とりどりのイルミネーション。
どの店に入っても定番のクリスマスソングが流れ、
テレビを点けたらほとんどのチャンネルがクリスマス特番。
どこに行ってもクリスマスの話題から逃れられない、
１２月２４日──クリスマスイブ。

世間はそんな華やかなお祭りムードだというのに、
つい先程試合を終えたばかりのここ、薄桜学園剣道場には
クリスマスのクの字すら見当たらない残念な雰囲気が漂っていた。

「今日の対戦校はなかなかに手強かったな。地区大会ベスト４というだけはある」
「一君が言うと嫌味にしか聞こえないね。相手に一本も許さなかったじゃない。ね、平助？」
「それは総司もだろ……というか、世間はクリスマスなのに何でオレたちは試合なんだよ！」
「何言ってるのさ。そういうのはクリスマスに予定がある人の文句でしょ。
平助の場合もともと予定なんてないし、いっそ毎日試合でも構わないと思うけどね」
「３６５日毎日試合か。なるほど、剣の腕を鍛えるには良いかもしれぬ」
「んなことしてたら、いつか倒れて死んじまうだろ！」

この場にいるのは、いずれも剣道部の二年生で沖田総司・斎藤一・藤堂平助の三人。
沖田がからかい斎藤がボケて平助がツッこむ。
この黄金比も薄桜学園の剣道部ではごくごく普通の光景である。
ともあれそんな感じでだらだら駄弁っていると、入口にふらりと人影が現れた。

「三人とも、試合お疲れ様。着替えたならそろそろ帰りませんか？」
「お、千鶴。さっきは応援ありがとな！」

顔を見せたのは、元男子校の薄桜学園に咲く一輪の花。
男祭りにも程があるこの学園で、唯一存在を許された女生徒。
今日は剣道部の試合に応援として駆けつけてくれた、雪村千鶴の姿だった。

「平助君と沖田先輩は帰り道同じだけど……斎藤先輩も途中まで一緒でしたよね？」
「ああ。だが俺はこの後、風紀委員の仕事が残っていてな」
「へえ、そうなんだ？　クリスマスイブまで男二人で仕事なんて風紀委員の鑑だなあ。
じゃあ僕たちは千鶴ちゃんと仲良ーく帰るから、一君は薫と一緒に頑張ってね」
「む……」

斎藤の脳裏に、風紀委員の根城こと理科準備室で待っている南雲薫の姿が浮かぶ。
理科準備室に行けば、果てしなく続く失点ポイントの集計作業が待っていることだろう。
千鶴と共に下校ｏｒ薫と共に仕事。
斎藤の脳内天使と悪魔は、がっちりと握手して同じ答えを導き出した。

「──仕事が残っていた気もしたが、そんなことはなかった。俺も帰ることにしよう」

いいのかよそれで。そんな顔をした平助の横をすり抜け、斎藤は歩き出す。
そのとき、外へ視線を向けた千鶴が驚きの声を上げた。

「あれ、雪……？」
「お、本当だ！　ホワイトクリスマスって奴だな！」

桜のようにはらはらと散る冬の欠片に、千鶴が白い息を吐き出した。
四人が見惚れているうちに、雪は勢いを増して天より舞い降りる。

「結構降ってきたね。このペースならひょっとして積もるかも」

沖田が楽しそうに告げる間も、更に雪は降り続ける。どんどん。

「いや、待て総司。積もるどころか……」

斎藤が息を呑むうちにも、更に雪は降り続ける。ばんばん。

「おいおいおい！　な、なんかこの雪の勢いまずくねえ？」

気づけば──窓には轟々と雪混じりの風が吹きつけ、
校舎の外では巻き上がる雪が白い壁のように世界を埋め尽くしていた。

「ゆ、雪っていうか、これもう吹雪！？」
「……家に帰るどころではないな。とりあえず、止むのを待つ他あるまい」
「でもこれ、止む気配なんてまったくないんだけど」

１ｍ前が見えるかどうかすら怪しい猛吹雪に、千鶴たちは顔を見合わせる。
すると、軽いノイズと共に校内のスピーカーからくぐもった声が漏れてきた。

『あーあー。テステス。本日は晴天なり。本日は晴天なり。
なあトシ、これでもうスイッチは入っているのか？』
『ああ、全校放送になってるからそのまま話せるはずだ。
……ただ近藤さん、ひとつ言っとくが今日は晴天どころか猛吹雪だぞ』
『そ、そうだったな。では……こほん。こちらは薄桜学園学園長、近藤勇だ。
校内に残っている全生徒に告ぐ。至急職員室に集まるように──』

「せっかくのクリスマスイブだというのに、こんな大雪とはなあ。
今年もサンタ役を募ってプレゼントを配ろうと思っていたんだが……」
「この雪じゃどうしようもねえよ近藤さん。外にも出れやしねえし」

全校放送をオフにすると、薄桜学園学園長・近藤勇と同教頭・土方歳三はため息をついた。
職員室に設置されたテレビからは、明日朝にかけて激しい雪になるだろうという
まったく救いのないアナウンサーの声が響いている。

「ほらほら、窓の外見てみろよ左之！　真っっ白だぜ！
こういうの見ると庭駆け回りたくなるっつーか、テンション上がるよなあ！」
「犬かおまえは。俺はこの雪でアパートが潰れてないかのほうが心配だぜ……」

困った空気が漂う職員室内でも、数学教師・永倉新八だけは無駄に元気だった。
というか、冬でもジャージ一丁を貫いている姿はもはや無謀を通り越して勇者である。
そんな彼に半眼を向けつつ、最近町でホストと勘違いされるのが悩みの種な
保健体育教師・原田左之助は、保健医の山南敬助に声をかけてみた。

「で、山南さん。今校内にいる生徒は学校に泊まってもらうってことでいいのか？」
「ええ。何の装備も無く外に出れば、真面目に遭難の危険がありますからね。
保護者の方々への連絡は私のほうでやっておきましょう」
「──今の話、本当か！？　今日は家に帰らなくていいんだな！？」

原田と山南の会話に目を輝かせたのは、
生活指導で職員室に呼び出されていた一年生・井吹龍之介だった。

「おいおい。どうしてそんなに嬉しそうな顔してるんだよ、龍之介。
家に帰れないとおまえだって困るだろ？」
「一人暮らししてる永倉先生にはわからないさ。
自室のルームプレートに【犬小屋】って書かれた俺の気持ちはな……」
「そ、そうか……」
「そういえば龍之介の養父って【あの】芹沢さんだったか……」

サンタさん素敵なクリスマスプレゼントを感謝するぜ！
とばかり天を仰ぐ龍之介に、職員室の面々は同情の視線を向けざるを得なかった。

薄桜学園調理実習室。
それは、全校生徒の９９％が男子な薄桜学園にとって最も使われない教室のひとつである。
だが、聖夜である今日はその封印も解かれ、今や室内には賑やかな空気が流れていた。
……集まっていたのは、恐らく全校生徒中で最も調理実習室の似合わない男たちだったが。

「おまえらに先に言っておきたいことがある」

夕食の調達を任された生徒の一人・南雲薫は、頬を引きつらせつつ周囲を見回す。
なんで俺がこいつらの面倒を見なきゃならないんだ。
そんな顔を隠そうともせず、薫は不適材不適所にも程がある面子へ口を開いた。

「とりあえず全員そのピンクのエプロンを脱げ。あまりにも不快すぎる」
「断る。生徒の頂点に君臨する生徒会長たる俺が、一介の風紀委員ごときの
言葉を聞いてやるいわれはない。大方、何を着ても絵になるこの俺への嫉妬だろうがな」
「よしわかった。もういいからいっそ服まで脱いで外に出て凍死してこい」

どう見ても生徒には見えない年頃だとは禁句。
この薄桜学園の生徒会長である三年生・風間千景は傲然と言い放ち、薫の言葉をスルーする。
その隣で鼻歌混じりに備え付けの冷蔵庫を漁っているのは、
これまた生徒会の一員でもある三年・不知火匡だった。

「なァ、エプロンつけて料理の支度するのはいいんだが、冷蔵庫の中には調味料しかねェぞ」
「仕方ないだろう。学校に泊り込むことになるなど先生たちも想定していなかっただろうし」
「しかし、このままでは夕食抜きになってしまいますね。どうしたものか」

薄桜学園でも屈指の常識人、二年の山崎烝と三年の天霧九寿が頭を捻って考え込む。
全力で探せば非常用のカンパンぐらいはあるだろうが、
クリスマスの夜にカンパンをかじりつつじんぐるべーる、はあまりにも切なすぎる。
暗い夕食風景を想像して沈黙した一同の上に、生徒会長の不敵な言葉が降ってきた。

「ふん、愚か者め。幸いなことに今日はクリスマス。
料理が無ければケーキを食べればいいだけのことだろう」
「どこかで聞いたような台詞で何を言ってるんだ……」

呆れ顔の山崎が文句を言い終える前に、
風間はテーブルの上にどこからか取り出した荷物を広げる。
イチゴショート、ガトーショコラ、ベイクドチーズ、モンブランｅｔｃ。
総数にして二十以上にも及ぶケーキの群れは、皆の度肝を抜くに十分だった。

「おお……！？　これだけあれば十分夕食になるな！　たまにはやるじゃねェか風間！」
「よ、よもやあの風間様が皆のぶんを用意するなどと……！」
「ふっ、いいぞ天霧に不知火。もっと褒め称えるがいい」

あまり褒めていない気もするが、ともあれ風間が用意したケーキで皆が色めきたつ。
しかしその中で、愕然とした顔を見せた者が一人。

「そ、そのケーキはまさか……」

薫は慌てて自分の鞄を漁ってみる。
ない。
千鶴にプレゼントする予定だったケーキが。
好き嫌いを考慮して念のため二十種類以上も用意したケーキが。

「くくく、どうした南雲」
「ぐっ……」
「さて、それでは我が妻たちにこのケーキを振舞ってくるか」

そもそも俺のだろう、と言えばこっそり千鶴のために用意したのがバレる。
それは薫のプライド的にあまり宜しくない。

──千鶴以外のケーキには後で毒でも盛ってやる。

そう決意して、薫は抹殺リストに書かれた風間の順位を上げることに決めた。
……こうして書くと若干薫が可哀想にも聞こえるが、
薫としてもお腹が空きすぎて凹んでいる千鶴にこれをちらつかせて、
「欲しければ以下略」とかやろうとしていたのでどっちもどっちである。

それから──。

夕食（？）を終えても雪は止む気配を見せることなく、時刻は眠るのに程良い時間。
千鶴は、保健室にあるベッドの上に腰掛けて困った顔を見せていた。

「あの、本当に私だけベッドを使ってもいいんでしょうか？」
「もちろんです。余計な気を遣う必要はありませんよ」
「うむ、山南君の言う通りだ。女の子を床に寝かせるわけには行かないからな」

生徒を学校に泊める、ということで一番揉めたのはこの件についてだった。
男どもは別にどうでもいいとして、女子である千鶴を雑魚寝させるわけにも行かず、
さりとてどこかの部屋に一人きりにしておくのも心配すぎる。
結局騒いだ末に、ベッドのある保健室で寝て先生方が見守るという話になったらしい。

「ということで千鶴ちゃん。遠慮しすぎってのもこういう場合逆に失礼だぜ」
「ああ、むしろちゃんと寝てくれねえと心配で俺たちが眠れねえよ。な？」
「わ、わかりました。じゃあお言葉に甘えさせてもらいます」

優しく微笑む永倉と原田の声にぺこりと頭を下げると、
千鶴はベッドに備え付けられたカーテンを引き布団に潜り込む、
いつもと違う環境でだいぶ疲れていたのか、寝息はすぐに聞こえてきた。

「……寝ちまったみてえだな」

軽く様子を伺った土方は安心したように、ほっと息を吐く。
それから、小声で近藤たちに話しかけた。

「んじゃ俺と原田、永倉の三人で校内の見回りに行ってくる。
近藤さんと山南さん、その間留守を頼むぜ」
「うむ、任せておいてくれ。トシたちもしっかり頼むぞ」

巡察……もとい、見回りに出て行く土方たち三人も、
残った近藤たちもこのとき想像もしていなかったに違いない。
この後、あのような惨劇が起きようとは……。

草木も眠る深夜二時。
降り積もる雪はまだまだ勢いを保ち、良い子の千鶴がすやすやと寝静まった頃。
良い子とは対極に位置する男たちが密かに動き出していた。

「なるほど。つまり平助は、これから女の子の寝室に無断で忍び込んで、
なおかつ無防備に眠ってる千鶴ちゃんの寝姿を眺め回してくるってわけかな？」
「なんで総司はそんな悪意のある解釈するんだよ……。
オレはただクリスマスプレゼントを置きに行こうと思っただけだって！」
「まさか平助に、千鶴ちゃんに夜這いを掛ける勇気があるとは思わなかったよ。
びっくりしすぎてうっかり首を絞めちゃいそうだなあ」
「よ、夜這いじゃねーって！　というか首！　本気で絞まってる！」

廊下に平助の苦鳴と沖田の低い笑いが響くのを耳にしながら、山崎はため息をつく。
部屋割り当ての結果、二人と同じ教室になってしまったのが不幸というべきか。

「とりあえず二人とも、プレゼントを渡すという目的は同じだろう？
なら雪村君を起こさないように、手早く済ませて帰ってくるべきだ」

肩をすくめて歩き出すと山崎は周囲を伺う。窓を叩く風の音がやけに耳についた。

「しかし、夜の学校というのは不気味だな。幽霊のひとつも出そうだが……」
「こ、怖いこと言うなよ。新しい学校なんだし幽霊なんて出るわけ……」

と、平助が身を震わせたそのとき、廊下を反射して謎の声が響き渡った。

「──南雲。俺は反対だ。眠っている婦女子の寝所に忍び込むなどと……」
「──きっちりプレゼント持ってきてるくせに、今さら何言ってるんだよ斎藤。
だいたい、嫌なら着いてこなければいいだけじゃないか」
「──こ、これはプレゼントではなく試合の応援に対する感謝の気持ちだ。
それに、あんたがそのデジカメで何をしようとしているか聞くまでは引くわけには行かぬ」
「──何でもいいから二人とも早くしてくれよ。
というか、何で俺まで……って、あれ？　何か人影が……」

沖田たちの姿が目に入ったのか、斎藤、薫、龍之介たち三人ぶんの声が止まる。
別の教室で眠っていたはずの三人と鉢合わせて、互いの間に奇妙な空白が落ちた。

「か、薫も一君も何してるんだよ？　この先には保健室しかないはずだけど」
「平助たちこそ何をしている。このような時間に校内を徘徊するなど、
風紀委員として見過ごすわけには行かぬ」

どうやら互いに考えることは同じだったらしい。
にわかに半眼になると、沖田は薫を剣呑な瞳でにらみつけた。

「というか、薫の手にあるデジカメは何なのかな。
まさか千鶴ちゃんの寝顔を写して部屋に飾るとかじゃないよね？」
「…………」

黙り込んだところを見ると、どうも図星のようだ。
やはりどこまでもこの兄の愛は歪んでいるというか病んでいる。
その反応を見た沖田は底冷えがするほどにっこりと笑うと、突然廊下の窓を開いて──。

「えい」

──窓の桟に積もった雪を丸めて、薫の持つデジカメに投げつけた。

「なっ……！　何の真似だ、沖田！」
「残念、外れちゃったか。もちろんデジカメを壊すに決まってるでしょ……っと！」

再び投げつけられた雪球は狙いを外し、
斎藤の持つプレゼントらしき小さな包みをかすめて壁に当たる。
唖然と見守る山崎と龍之介の目には、斎藤が目を細めて雪球を握り締めたのが見えた。

「総司……今の雪球は俺への攻撃とみなして構わぬな？」
「って、おわ！？　一君こそオレに投げてくんなよ！　この！」

次々開け放たれる窓から雪が吹き込み、そして始まる雪合戦。
廊下の端に避難した山崎と龍之介は、体育座りで身を屈めつつ諦めの声を上げた。

「井吹、お互いに大変だな」
「ああ……というか山崎は何であいつらに着いてきたんだ？
やっぱり雪村にプレゼントを届けるつもりなのか？」
「……い、いや。俺はそんなこと考えてもいない。
そもそも俺から突然何かもらっても、雪村君も困るだけだろうし──」
「いや、そんなことないと思うぞ。ただ、あいつは競争率が高──ぶっ！？」

犬も歩けば棒に当たるが、何もなくとも直撃されるのが龍之介。
顔面に流れ弾の直撃を受けた龍之介を眺めつつ、山崎は胸元を押さえてつぶやいた。
果たして、ここにあるプレゼントを守りきることが出来るだろうか──と。

──さて、そんな不毛な戦いとほぼ時を同じくして、
別の方向の廊下からも、保健室に近づく三つの影があった。

「あー……眠ィ。プレゼント渡すぐらい一人で行けよ……」
「歩みが遅れているぞ。いいから黙って歩け、不知火」

不知火がぶつぶつ文句を言うのも無理はない。
千鶴の枕元にプレゼントを置きに行くから来い、と風間に寝入りばなを
起こされたのはつい先刻のこと。不知火はただいま絶賛不機嫌中である。

「てか、天霧。あんたが持ってるその無駄にでかい段ボール、まさか……」
「お察しの通り、すべて風間様から雪村殿へのプレゼントです」
「ふ。俺の愛を示すには、この程度ではまだ全然足りぬがな」

おまえの愛は重すぎるんだよ。
そっとため息をつきつつ、不知火は面倒事をさっさと終わらせようと足を早める。
しかし三人が曲がり角を折れた瞬間、懐中電灯の光が彼らを照らし出した。

「ん？　生徒会の奴らじゃねえか。てめえら、そんなとこで何してやがる？」
「土方先生たちですか。困りましたね……」
「こんな時間に外に出てどうしたんだよ。早く寝ろって言っただろ」

不審そうに細めた永倉の目に真っ先に映ったのは、やはり天霧の持つ巨大な段ボールだった。
風間に話をさせるとややこしくなると思ったのか、天霧が前に出て口を開く。

「我々はただ、雪村殿にプレゼントを届けに来ただけです。通しては頂けませんか」
「プレゼント？　千鶴ならもうとっくに寝ちまってるぞ。渡したかったら朝にしてくれよ」

首を振る原田に、風間は不敵に笑う。
まずい。こいつに話をさせたらまとまるものもまとまらない。
そう考えた不知火だったが、風間の口を押さえるにはほんの数秒遅かった。

「ふん。我が妻に逢うこの千載一遇のチャンスを俺が逃すはずがなかろう。
おまえらだろうが天霧だろうが天の声だろうが今の俺を止めることはできん」
「本気で何しに行くつもりだてめえは！！」

次々と繰り出される文句を耳に、不知火は頭を抱え込む。
……もうここまで来たらやるしかないだろう。

「あーくそ、風間の奴が退くわけねーよな……。天霧。やるぞ」
「ええ。仕方ありません」

言葉と共に天霧と不知火は、突然窓を一気に開け放つ。
舞い込む激しい吹雪が土方たちの視界をくらませた刹那、
風間たちは土方たちを突破しようと走り出した。

「行かせるか！」

段ボールを取り落とした天霧と永倉が、力比べの態勢で組み合う。
互いの筋肉が軋む距離で押し合いながら、天霧は眉を寄せた。

「永倉先生……私と互角に押し合うとは流石ですね」
「当然だろ。数学教師・永倉新八様をなめてもらっちゃ困るぜ！」

数学関係あるのかよと思わずツッコミたくなるが、
たぶん支点力点作用点とかいろいろあるのだろう。きっと。
対して廊下の反対側では、クイックドロウで雪球を撃ち放つ不知火と
黒板を指す指示棒を、槍のように振り回して雪球を叩き落す原田が睨み合っていた。

「ははっ。さすが原田、よくかわすじゃねェか！」
「おまえが物投げてくるのにも慣れてるからな。
というか不知火、普段授業中に消しゴムとか撃ってくるんじゃねえよ！」

そして、最後に廊下中央。そこでは土方と風間が雪球を手に対峙していた。

「……先程から外が騒がしいですが、何の音でしょうか？」
「むう。トシたちも巡回から戻ってきていないし、何かあったのかもしれん。確認してみよう」

大きく頷くと、近藤と山南は扉を開いて廊下に出る。
──その刹那。彼らの横を、音を立てて雪球が通り過ぎていった。

「な、何事だ！？」

雪球と悲鳴が飛び交い、ガラスが割れ、雪が舞う。
学校の廊下はまさに戦場と呼ぶのが相応しい状況と化していた。
山南君、避難を──と叫ぶのはほんの１秒ばかり遅かったらしい。
近藤が警告を口にしようとした瞬間には、既に雪球が山南の頭を直撃していた。

「さ、山南君！？」

続けて二度三度、山南の顔に雪球が容赦なくぶつかる。
雪がうっすらと積もった廊下に膝をついた山南は、
やがて左右を見てからゆっくりと立ち上がる。
顔や頭を中心に無数の直撃弾を喰らった山南の髪は（雪で）白く染まり、
目も怒りの余り爛々と輝いてまるで悪鬼羅刹のようだった。

「……近藤学園長」
「な、何かな山南君」
「私は今から、校内で雪合戦をする不埒な面々に少しばかりお仕置きをしてきますね」
「い、いや。待ってくれ山南君。おちつい──」

どがっ、と。
山南を止めようとした努力むなしく、近藤の頭にも雪球がクリティカルヒットする。
薄れ行く意識の中、激しく頭を揺らされた近藤の脳裏には、
くわんくわんと聖夜に相応しいジングルベルのような音が鳴り響いていた──。

それからしばらく経って──。

朝鳴きのスズメの声が耳をくすぐり、時計の針が朝に差し掛かった頃、
目を覚ました千鶴はあくびと共にベッドの上で身を起こした。

「あ……そういえば、学校に泊まったんだっけ。
それにしても、何だか変な夢を見たような……」

ぼんやりした頭のまま、カーテン越しのまだ多少暗い空を見上げる。
そう。近藤先生の悲鳴とか、山南先生の笑い声とか、
ガラスの割れる音に誰かの断末魔とかがさっきまで聞こえていたような──。

……なんだか思い出すと大変なことになりそうな気がしたので、
とりあえず顔でも洗ってこようと千鶴は立ち上がり、保健室の扉に手をかけた。

「あ、あれ？」

ドアが妙に硬いというか、重い。まるで外から押さえられているような感覚。
不思議に思いつつも、今度は渾身の力を込めて引っ張ってみると、
開いた隙間から雪が室内に滑り込み、廊下の光景が見えてきた。

「……え？」

そこは一面の銀世界だった。
割れたり開け放たれた窓からは雪が舞い込み、廊下には雪がうず高く積もっている。
そしてその雪の中には、いくつもの人影が倒れ伏していた。
わかりやすく一言で言うと、死屍累々。

「な、何があったの……！？」

聖夜のミステリーというか、戦場でメリークリスマスというか。
倒れた面々から上がるうめき声を耳に、千鶴はハッと我に返って叫んだ。

「みなさん、しっかりしてくださいー！！」

……千鶴の悲痛な絶叫という、とんだ聖夜の贈り物。
必ずしも良い子とはいえない者たちの思惑は、雪の中に埋もれて消えたのだった――。

Shiraishi Kuranosuke

I personally won’t be getting them but I guess they’re a must for fans? There’s something about the illustrations that are lacking from the recent DRRR!! dream cushions by Kotobukiya. Took me a while to pin-point the issue I have with them. Yep, the expressions and the way their bodies are posed. The DRRR!! boys are rather seductive and relaxed like they’re really lying down and looking at you. In comparison, Atobe and Shiraishi seemed kind of stiff and uncomfortable ^^;; I find that their blankets look much better too.

But then again, that’s probably because I’m not a fan lol~ so I’m not biased XD

I won’t go into detail on how to use this app (no time ^^;;) but it is similar to my previous post here.

I caved and bought Harada Sanosuke’s app in November 2011. Unlike the free trial version, the intimacy level went up in just 2 days of using the app. Maxed intimacy within the next 2 days :D

But similarly, intimacy level drops quite quickly if you didn’t pay enough attention to him. It dropped to 3 petals in 2 days cos I was too busy with work. And the change in his tone was quite shocking ^^;; Not used to Sanosan being so cold (;_;)

Anyway, on the right is the special winter pack that you can purchase within the app itself. 170 Yen. 5 new voices, 1 costume, 1 background.

Update: It seems that a number of you are not sure how to download the winter add-on. So here’s a quick tutorial:

Left: Select the 3rd option from the menu. Right: Tap on the red button.

A pop up will appear and ask if you want to buy the item. After tapping Buy, you’ll be prompted to login to your iTunes account. After that if the window comes out like below, it means you’ve purchased it successfully.

When you go back to the screen, the red button will become green. Then go back to the front screen and tap on the 4th option.

Here you can choose which version Harada you want to display. Tap on the first button and you’ll bring up a window to choose the winter add-on. Slide the option to the second one then tap OK.

Next tap on the 2nd option to change the background. Similarly, it’ll bring up a window for you to choose the option. Slide it to the 2nd option and tap OK.

Since this is the first time you’re installing the new background and costume, the app will connect to the internet to download the data.

When you’re done, Sanosan will be dressed in the winter package. The background is dark because this screen was captured during the evening :) Hontoni ikemen desu ne… Sanosan!

There is a special birthday greeting too. To set your birthday, at Settings (4th option), tap on the last option. A window will pop up for you to enter your birthday. After sliding to the correct date, tap OK. On your birthday, Harada will wish you happy birthday :D

Christmas Day special voice! I’m not sure if I missed out on the Christmas eve voice, if any (;_;) Update: official site corrected that the special voice is only on 25 December not 24 December.

Sanosan: The city seems to be bustling with activity. Is there some kind of a festival held today? Ah~ I see. Today is a day you spend with your loved one? Then I’ll spend the day with you. You’re ok with that, right?

Days to watch out for the special voices are: 25 December, 1 January, 2 March and 14 February.

If I’m not wrong, this bedsheet features design of this character in the middle of the manga cover on the right.

To be honest, I don’t know much about this shounen manga series, Magi-Labyrinth of Magic, created by Ootaka Shinobu (大高忍). I’ve read that it is very popular. There are 11 volumes and it is still on-going. It isn’t officially BL but it is popular among BL fans in Japan.

The bedsheets caught my eye because of the design. Rather nice I would say :)

I remember reading tweets of my followers who are fans, so I thought it might of interest?

Definitely not to be missed if you’re a fan since these fan service official goods are relatively rare.

Summary:
The story is set on a caravan that is travellng through a desert in search of Oasis City with its abundant supplies of water. A trader named Lyra travels with the caravan despite the thieves that bedevil it. One day, a mysterious boy named Aladdin appears before Lyra, and their encounter opens a door for adventure.

I watched the first 10 episodes of the anime and had to drop it along with all the other anime I was following as I got too busy. The production quality was superb. The story is strange though. I don’t quite get it but I think I’ll try to marathon the episodes when they’re done with it. It has interesting ideas and characters. The character designs are created by BL mangaka, Hoshino Lily 星野 リリィ.

What do you think of the anime? It does seem rather popular if the amount of goods available for preorder and on sale is a good indication.

I love these type of action games… I’m a fan of Dynasty Warriors (真・三國無双/Shin Sangokumusou) although I’m bad at it lol~ There’s something extremely stress-busting and cathartic about using a hot male character to off hordes of 3D soldiers with one clean sweep set to a pumping soundtrack.

It’s awesome that they decided to do something like this for an otome series like Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan :D This is probably a first for game with a predominantly female target audience. I hope they give the characters some fancy moves and skills that we’ve come to expect of these musou games. I wonder if there’s a route for each character that you have to complete to unlock other characters, similar to the ones in PS2/3 games? That said, I do hope the seiyuus also voice the storylines when they’re not fighting.

Besides the main characters and seiyuus we are familiar with in the original series, the game makers roped in popular seiyuus to voice two new characters. KENN will voice Katsura Kogorou 桂 小五郎 and Okiayu Ryotarou 置鮎 龍太郎 to voice Saigou Takamori 西郷 隆盛.

I have difficulty getting Konoe to sit up, so I got some help from poogie (Monster Hunter)

Front and back view. Konoe measures about 17cm tall including his ears.

Close up of his outfit. They’re sewn into his body, so the pieces can’t be removed

Very good quality stitching. The embroidery used for his eyes are very fine.

Love the little bits of fur sticking out. Comfy felt-material for the hair and outfit.

Strap is removable :D

The ribbon can be untied but since his outfit is stitched to his body, we can’t strip him.

Plushie strap Konoe is seriously cute and his smaller size makes him even more so. Nitro+Chiral /Gift really should make the semes too (;_;)
