Yes, after months and years, the much awaited Junjou Romantica Nendoroid Petit (Puchi) has finally arrived…

If I remember correctly, this set of figures was first announced after the end of the second season of Junjou Romantica anime and supposed to have been released in Oct 2009 but it was delayed a few times until they finally decided to delay it all the way till now. I think part of the reason could be the bad economy in 2008/2009 which would probably have made it a lot more expensive to manufacture.

Anyway, I’m so very very glad the set made it through and is released successfully! :D

Perfect pose for kissing
As I was shooting the figures, I found that we can achieve such a cute and perfect kissing angle with Usami’s arm positioned like this! And Misaki has the “I don’t want to be kissed by you but you are so persistent I can’t resist” tsundere frown. LOL SO CUTE! XD

The following is the box packaging of the figure set. It’s a pink and cheery box decorated with pink lace, dainty flowers and petals, crying out for your love and attention. Oh notice the also -pink- pen at the bottom. It’s a free gift that came with the order.

Unboxed. Notice that even the cover was given a cute design treatment with a flower :3 And a close-up of the pen. Nothing special though… except for the main logo design of the series.

The mandatory mugshot. The two boys are leaning against the backdrop while Suzuki-san can actually stand by its own without its base for support. The figures look really good in pics right? They are even cuter in real life :3 Usami’s oresama and slightly cheeky look is perfect. I just noticed one little detail that is off… Misaki should have been a bit shorter than Usami… but that’s probably asking too much for a Nendoroid Petit.

Another angle. See? Suzuki-san is standing away from the wall. I’m trying very hard not to type the word cute in every other sentence but I’m going to fail. Misaki is so cute!!! From this angle too!

Here’s the side view. I tried to make Usami and Misaki stand facing each other without their bases but Misaki’s bangs poked out and refused to cooperate, so they kept falling over. Putting them leaning against each other is fine tho’ :D Cute butt!

Back-view lol~ Doesn’t it look like Usami is whispering some secret to Misaki and Suzuki-san is trying to eavesdrop on them? I placed them flat, face-down.

Usami and Misaki disassembled heh… And when I did that, I realised that we were cheated of the opportunity to change Misaki’s arms because of his design. *pouts* But notice the cute detail of his belt. Actually you can’t even see it when it is attached to his body. I’m glad they didn’t skim on that. Painting details of the figures were crisp and nicely done.

I have to confess, when I first saw the planned release included Suzuki-san, I thought we were being ripped-off. That’s because although he is the mascot, I rather they made another character instead of the bear. But now that I have the actual Suzuki-san figure, I’m really glad he was made. Cos we can make teddy bear Misaki! XD Or any other Nendoroid Petit character you have into a ribbon bowed bear!!! See those paws Gaaa~ The whole effect is just too cute! (again)

They really could have made more accessories or interchangeable parts for this set of figures. I mean… look at the box. It can allow for so much more items! But only the 3 figures were made and Misaki didn’t even have removable arms. And they cost the same as the Bakemonogatari ones too… well, minus the fact that most of us have to go through a proxy to get them.

I’m praying that sales for this set go extremely well, so that we can get the rest of the couples made.

Oh well, complaints aside… I’m very glad to have them! And I think they are very much worth the wait and price cos they are so much cuter than I expected them to be. They are still available at Chara-ani, so grab them if your budget allows! :)

These accessories come with Figma Shizuno Izumi (志津野 泉) from an 18+ eroge (H-game) called Sekirara se・きらら. I’m not sure if I want to get this but that vacuum cleaner looks like something we can use if we had a Figma Misaki (Junjou Romantica) As for the cake, I already have LOTS of Rement cake and pastries =_=;;; what a let down. The pillow is so-so too. Nothing to shout about. I won’t be getting this girl cos I just remembered that I have a Rement vacuum cleaner already ^^

The character has a pretty face though. Nice breasts too :D

The rubber ducky is cute and lol~ bra… this is cos the character in question is a loli who is only 138cm tall, petite and has small breasts ^^ Now we need a bath tub included with a figma next time so that we can use it for Sweet Pool or something XD

The character’s face is very cute too :) I like her green hair! Reminds me of Minami Iwasaki from Lucky Star… also a mint-green haired girl… who also has a small breasts complex! Hey… is it an unspoken stereotype that green-haired characters have small breasts? ^^;;;

Broken and damaged…

On 6 January 2010. I was incredibly upset. Hands slightly shaking when I took the photos. I wanted to ask for feedback on their forum but my registration was being moderated so I can’t post anything yet. How frustrating, so I sent an email to the staff on 6 January 2010. No reply yet. I had to vent, so I wrote this post *_* It feels almost as bad as getting a bootlegged item for the full price. HAHA. But I’m not smiling.

Update 8 Jan 2010: Given some good advice by helpful forumers there who have many praises for Triad Toys stuff. Still haven’t heard anything from the staff though… Hmm… I guess the damage isn’t as bad as I thought. Well, I’ve recovered from the shock… *shrugs* I probably won’t ask for an exchange or whatever. A lot of hassle. x_x;; I was told that smudges can be easily removed by rubbing alcohol on Jin’s face and the mega-powerful magnets on Mugen’s sandal can also be easily super-glued back. BUT I’m not wrong to expect products in mint-condition right? :( [update end]

Depending how they respond, it will determine if this will be last time I’m buying anything from their online store.

1) Unbelievably flimsy packaging, no bubblewrap whatsoever

For something that costs about US$12o EACH and needs to be delivered overseas. Unbelievable. Maybe the figure’s own box packaging is supposed to give it protection but obviously it is not enough.

2) Broken sandal on Mugen (and some paint scraped off from his hair)

It is supposed to be removable BUT the sandal piece is broken. See last pic, so I won’t take him out before I get an answer from the staff.

3) Jin’s hairpiece flew off (and is probably the cause of ink stains on various parts of his face)

Okie, seems like his hairpiece is removable so that you can pose his eyes from behind but what a shock to see it… and I think due to this, his face was smudged in several parts with the ink.

I guess after such a long wait, expectations run really high and to receive the items in this condition, it truly is appalling. Shipping was not cheap either!

And I think if there are removable parts like the headpiece (I’m just guessing for now), they should include instructions in the box. These are my first Triad figures, so I’m not sure what to expect. To save customers the pain and shock, please do something about this or have some information at the website.

I didn’t complete the game but I rather liked the design of the couple when I saw the product photos. BL fangirls are suckers for one-winged bishonens. But it defies logic AND physics… How can you fly and maintain your balance with only one-wing? This is the stuff of fantasies.

I contemplated getting Halloween Sora to complete the set but decided against it in the end. Cloud and Sephy look better just the two of them together :P

Anyway, I couldn’t take a decently lighted photo cos of the packaging. From outside, Sephiroth’s hair and armour looks rather shiny. It’ll be interesting to see what the figures really look like after they’re unwrapped.

What’s a naked girl doing in a predominantly BL blog?

I’m not doing a reverse BL and coming up with a yuri or hentai-related post lol~ so don’t worry about that.

This girl is special. She is my first female figure from Medicom Toy, Real Action Heroes Street Fighter Chun-Li!

I was impressed by Chun-Li’s head sculpt when I came across her photos online. When I laid eyes on the actual prototype figures on display during Anime Festival Asia 2008, I knew I didn’t make a mistake in placing a pre-order for her. When she finally arrived last month, I was excited and happy to see the final product. But I was really busy and didn’t have the mood to take her out of her box *shrug* so this review came late ^^;

So anyway, RAH Chun-Li warrants a damage of 16,800 Yen (w/o tax) to own.

She is 30cm tall and dressed immaculately in a blue Chinese traditional dress Qipao (Cheongsam) and her trademark buns on her head (lol) She has a pair of spiky bracelets and wears her white boots. Her costume pieces include a pair of blue “outer-panty”, brown tights and white belt. All are removable, except her head pieces. Her costumes and frills of her head-dress are wired, so you can pose them to achieve a more dynamic feel.

She has huge, muscular legs too that are specially customised for this figure. Also included are 2 pairs of hands, in martial arts pose and clenched fist pose, and a figure stand. She can stand on her own but if you want more challenging poses, like her  “helicopter kick”, you’ll need the stand.

What I like most about her figure? Her head sculpt and paint job is very beautiful. She looks lovely in any angle! 100% babe. No doubt about it.

As Chun-Li is my first Medicom Toy girl figure, I was quite pleasantly surprised to find out that her torso/upper body is made of soft material. All my other Medicom boys, Lulu, Naoto, Light, etc were hard plastic. Darn. I want to pinch their butts like how I can poke Chun-Li’s breasts! XD

Is that the norm for Medicom RAH girl figures? If you know, please enlighten me!

What I found most amusing about her is that in order to achieve her ample bosom using the original Medicom female figure (I’m assuming this since I don’t have other Medicom girl figures), they gave her a NuBra type of stick-on to enhance her cup size. I believe those who own Medicom’s Death Note Misa Amane probably won’t have this extra “accessory” lol~

I also find that we can easily remove the arms and legs from the figure. Just pull at the shoulder and pelvic joints and they just come off. I think the design makes the figure very much easier to dress and undress without any fear of breaking anything. Compared to the boys whose arms and legs are all screwed-up (literally) onto the torso, Chun-Li’s arms and legs have a wider range of poses too. I’ve since broken my RAH Yagami Light’s arm in an attempt to pose him. (T_T) Unforgivable I know *points at self* but… sigh it was just waiting to happen.

However, Chun Li’s torso comes in one piece, so getting to pose her at the waist joint is not possible. Can’t have everything I guess…

Another small issue I have with this figure is that her boots are part of her calves/feet. They can be removed but we don’t have a pair of non-booted legs to replace them. So if you decide to strip her like I did, there’s a shoe-fetish feel to her since she can’t take off her boots. Hentai-poi~ xD

In conclusion, I think this is an awesome figure worth splurging on. I love my RAH Chun Li… even though I’m not a fan of her in the Street Fighter series… oops! ^^

Evangelion is special. Why? Cos it was one of the first Yaoi/BL I’ve come into contact with even though it wasn’t supposed to be BL. Weird huh. And I hadn’t even completed watching the whole series. I somehow couldn’t get into it but I’ll try again when I’m feeling more upbeat.

It goes waaaay back. My friend (a guy) was gushing to me about how amazing the series was. So I went to search for information online. (Google didn’t even exist then… yes it was THAT way back. The nineties!) And guess what… all I could find on the internet were images of fan-made Evangelion hard yaoi doujinshi and drawings (Oekaki) in Japanese websites… of Shinji x Kaworu (Kaoru), Kaworu x Shinji, Gendo x Shinji, etc, etc, etc *MEGA sweat drop for an innocent then* XD

Great. Lol~ I wasn’t into hard yaoi and neither was I such a BL fangirl at that time. I enjoyed a bit of fluffy shounen-ai that were quite common in shoujo manga but I was definitely not exposed to those explicit stuff. BL weren’t so easily available then either. I never told my friend about my surprise find but I was quite fascinated by those pics tho’ *sweat drop again* I never knew porn existed in Yaoi form. lol~ lol~ *sheepish smile* Yet another kiddo led astray by internet porn! lol~

Anyway, now that Medicom Toy has RAH for Shinji, Rei and Asuka… would they also release a RAH Kaworu to complete the coupling? I think it’s unlikely but we never know, since PVC statues of Kaworu are available.

RAH Shinji costs the same as Project BM! Zero at 17,640 Yen and they’re both modified from the “skinny body” type. Although his head sculpt looks spot on, I don’t think he can be stripped out of his plug suit (yes, I’m a perv XD but seriously, it is more fun if I can dress him up ^^)

I think RAH Shinji probably will only be shipped with limited number of accessories too, so I’m not that thrilled about splurging on his figure. I love Lulu enough to do that but I don’t feel the same for Shinji. So yeah… into the wishlist he shall go :) although I’m still kinda tempted.

Oh.. I mean, looks just like you XD lol~ well, at least I know that’s how I felt like once after I pulled an (almost) all-nighter 2 consecutive days for a major project. When my head finally hit the pillow, random folks/friends who usually wouldn’t call me at that time of the day, rang my mobile phone one after another,  So… zzZzz 15 minutes… Riiiing!!! =_=  yakyak… bye… ZzzZz 25 minutes… Riiiing!!! *_* (repeats again) *&*@^%%$#@%!!! xD

I only shot photos of limited edition / overseas event exclusive items on sale/display and some random figures I find interesting at the recent Anime Festival Asia 2008, Singapore on 23 November 2008. I didn’t go crazy like the first time I attended a convention like this, so I didn’t shoot everything on sight. (Toy and Comic Convention 2008 was my first ^^) No wonder my batteries lasted this time round even though it was a bigger event with more on display :P

If you were a Gundam fan, you would be really happy. There was a human sized Gundam statue, Gundam dioramas on display and limited-edition items on sale.

There were three limited edition Bandai Gunpla on sale. I kinda like the pinkish red Gundam (1/60 GUNDAM EXIA Trans-AM version ~ Limited) and that blue-coloured one (HG 1/44 GUNDAM EXIA Clear Color Version ~ Limited). *sweatdrop* Seriously no idea which series they’re from. I sound so like a random mecha idiot ^^”

They were retailing from around S$70~100 or more each? I forgot to check the prices. But according to my friend, they were a bargain. The pink one was snapped up within 30 mins or so after the doors opened on the first day. And by the second day, the blue one was sold out (I think). I’m not a fan, so I don’t feel the loss.

The grey one on the right is supposedly rare too… only a few left that day but I prefer coloured XD

Next up, transformable Overseas Event Limited Armoured Core Mecha by Kotobukiya. Pretty cool huh ^^ Red! I like. I’m so glad I’m not a mecha fan. The sheer number of collectible figures available is incredible.

Just a while ago, I was saying I prefer colour? But I make an exception for Medicom Toy Real Action Heroes, LIMITED EDITION WHITE CHUN LI! Nobody told me there was something like this planned?!? What a beauty! xD~ But I already pre-ordered the normal blue version at S$180 (early-bird discounted). This knowledge came at a really bad time. Broke already (T_T)

It is limited to 300 pieces only at about the same price (17,640 Yen with tax ) but after currency conversion and shipping/handling charges, I think it will cost me more than S$300 in the end.
