If I’m not wrong, this bedsheet features design of this character in the middle of the manga cover on the right.

To be honest, I don’t know much about this shounen manga series, Magi-Labyrinth of Magic, created by Ootaka Shinobu (大高忍). I’ve read that it is very popular. There are 11 volumes and it is still on-going. It isn’t officially BL but it is popular among BL fans in Japan.

The bedsheets caught my eye because of the design. Rather nice I would say :)

I remember reading tweets of my followers who are fans, so I thought it might of interest?

Definitely not to be missed if you’re a fan since these fan service official goods are relatively rare.

Summary:
The story is set on a caravan that is travellng through a desert in search of Oasis City with its abundant supplies of water. A trader named Lyra travels with the caravan despite the thieves that bedevil it. One day, a mysterious boy named Aladdin appears before Lyra, and their encounter opens a door for adventure.

This is an artbook of one of the sweetest boy’s love, shounen-ai manga I’ve read. Ah~ the bittersweet moments of young love…

Although Nakamura-sensei’s art-style takes some getting used to at first, you’ll quickly find yourself drawn into it along with her engaging plot and realistic character portrayals. Her characters are incredibly expressive and very, very endearing. As the relationship between the couple develops, you’ll also be surprised how sexy her style can be.

The manga has also been dramatised and the couple voiced by two of my favourite seiyuus Kamiya Hiroshi x Nojima Kenji (神谷浩史x野島健児) which I highly recommend.

Anyway, I’ll post a review of this artbook when I receive it :D

Firstly… thanks to my friend, Oru for letting me know about these lovely, smexy works by Guilt | Pleasure, a US-based doujin circle by Toga-Q and Kichiku Neko :3 That was back in February 2011 before chapter 4 of In These Words were out! I finally bought them all XD

I had wanted to get them after all the chapters are completed cos waiting for the next chapter is always painful OTL;; But I couldn’t resist in the end (I guess I had some $ left from all my figure purchases ^^;;) and ordered them last month. When they arrived, I asked myself… why did I wait so long to get my hands on them!? Lol~ but now begins the agony of waiting for the next chapter (;_;)

Also, Oru highly recommended Cruel to be Kind and you can read the web novel at Guilt | Pleasure’s website :D The sketchbook I bought provides the pr0n visual feast to the novel which I devoured in one sitting. There’s more to come but we’ll have to wait (;_;)

As for In These Words, check out their news page for the samples. You’ll fall in love just like countless fans of Guilt | Pleasure’s works :)

Besides the main stories, one of my definite favourites in the books were the freetalk corners. It’s fun and amusing to read about Toga-Q and Kichiku Neko’s creative processes and constructive arguments XDD Artworks from guest artists were awesome and enjoyable too.

And to have the manga/novel serialising in BL giant, Libre Japan’s BeBoy Gold, will there be a day we get to hear the dramatisation of Guilt | Pleasure’s works starring our favourite seiyuus? OMG… the thought of it really excites me!

Karin Chatnoir 花梨シャノアール (Karin Entertainment) has created the manga version of Omerta ~Chinmoku no Okite~. It is currently serialised and published in B-boy novels magazine.

Very often, original illustrators/character designers of these BL games are not the ones who draw the manga versions, for example: Sweet Pool (Kurumazaki Mayu 車折まゆ) and Lucky Dog 1 (Uzuhachi 渦八). So this is really awesome news, especially when we already know that Tateishi-sensei’s art is so beautiful.

From the looks of the lovely cover, this will probably be JJ x Azusa route.

Kimi to Boku 君と僕。 (You and I) based on shounen manga by Hotta Kiichi 堀田 きいち will be animated!

Shun, Kaname, and the twins Yuuki and Yuuta have been friends since kindergarten. It’s a little hard to tell if they actually get along or not – but even as high-school students, they hang out together. Recently, they’ve had a new addition; a half-Japanese transfer student Chizuru, who has started to liven up the group. This manga is really just about their daily lives, which aren’t particularly passionate or exciting. A tranquil and sometimes comedic story of youthful friendship…

I enjoyed Lucky Star らき☆すた when it was aired a while back and I’m definitely looking forward to another slice-of-life comedy! It makes it even better because the leads are guys this time.

One of my all time favourite manga was Koko wa Gurin Uddo (ここはグリーン・ウッド/Here is Greenwood) by Yukie Nasu 那州雪絵 which was about a bunch of high school guys staying in the same domitory and their comedic daily misadventures. It’s silly but this manga series was the reason for one of my biggest wish… that was to stay in a dormitory as a student (but that wish didn’t come true ^^;;;) I haven’t been catching up on manga much nowadays and missed gems like Kimi to Boku cos a quick check on the web shows lots of very positive reviews of this manga series. It has quite a number of Drama CDs that was released too. Would the anime be using the same cast?

Generally speaking, both series Kimi to Boku and Here is Greenwood have shounen-ai elements where one main character is mistaken as a girl at first (Their names happen to sound the same too lol~ what a coincidence. Both are “Shun”) and the characters have very close friendships. However, such shounen-ai elements are not the only reasons I enjoyed a series like Here is Greenwood. Basically, it was great storytelling and characters that made me love it :) I had a quick read of Kimi to Boku and it reminds me of what I loved about Here is Greenwood too.

Looking forward to the actual release!

Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi 世界一初恋 by Junjou Romantica 純情ロマンチカ mangaka Nakamura Shungiku 中村春菊 was aired in Japan on 8 April 2011.

Update: Well generally speaking, Sekai Ichi anime didn’t disappoint. I’ve watched the OVA and like to say that it reminded me of everything I loved about Junjou Romantica <3

From the looks of it, the art style of the manga/anime definitely looks very Junjou-ish. The main characters Onodera Ritsu and Takano Masamune also look like a younger Miyagi x older Shinobu from Junjou Terrorist.

By the way, the story is set at the same publishing company in Junjou Romantica, so we’ll get to see a familiar face or two from the manga, such as Isaka Ryuuichiro.

They’re also keeping the original cast from the drama CDs which is great. Generally, I find that in terms of the entertaining and comedic factor, Junjou Romantica is a lot funnier. I’ve read comments however that this series is a lot more believable and down-to-earth. What do you think?

As a sneak peak and commemorative gesture for the upcoming anime, a 20-minute anime DVD will be bundled with the manga that will be released in March 2011. I hope it has different content from the actual TV broadcast :)

After Sweet Pool’s Tetsuo x Youji one-coin chibi’s debut in the miniature bath tub, I took Banoni‘s suggestion to make Junjou Romantica bath scene too :D

It is possible to balance Nendoroid Petite heads on some one-coin chibi bodies as you can see in my previous Junjou Petite review. But this time, we’re using Y-shirt Akira’s naked body and Nendoroid Petite Misaki’s head. I tried but there was no way that tiny body could support the big head without some help.

So this was what I did. Notice that there are no ball-joints available to connect Misaki’s head to Akira’s body. So I used a plastic wire fastener and twisted it into something that will fit both holes.

The resulting wire fastener (is that what it’s called anyway?)

Don’t be shy Misaki, you look per…fect…ly…. cute -NAKED- now! :D~ Yay~

It’s Monday and I’m feeling a little blue~ I try to love Mondays because it’s the start of a brand-new and awesome week! (Thnking positively) OTL… but if you’re like me (did not have enough sleep), here’s a couple of Tetsuo x Youji shots to cheer you up ^^

I had a fun time making the bubble foam in the tub and getting the boys wet lol. Getting them to “hold” their “lying-down” poses in the tub was next to impossible due to their bases and heads. Well, I could try to use things to prop their backs up but… I’ll try it next time I guess. In the end, I used a more “straight-up” standing pose for the shots and lathered them with foam. Looks like they’re sitting in the tub, no? :D

Fans of mangaka Chayamachi Suguro (茶屋町 勝呂) probably already know that she’ll be releasing her very own artbook soon. It was delayed since July and is expected to be released finally on 1 October 2010.

In case you are unaware, she is the mangaka who illustrates Nitro+Chiral’s Togainu no chi and Lamento Beyond the Void manga. The artbook will contain her works and illustrations from the two titles.

Kazuaki is currently one of the hottest illustrators right now, creating beautiful CD covers for the mega-popular Starry Sky series (Starry☆Sky), drama CDs such as Kannou Mukashibanashi (官能昔話), Persona, Vampire Kiss and many BL novels, etc. The artbook will contain some of her fan works of Lamento and Durarara!! too.

There are a couple of shops you can get it from. Comicomi, Mandarake (Ikebukuro), Amiami (sold out temporarily), Animaxis, Amazon Japan and CDJapan.

Both Comicomi and Mandarake only ship by EMS but they will come with an extra free bonus each: a postcard and special illustrated paper respectively.

The other 3 shops don’t have any bonus items.

As I did the post about her artbook, I just found out that she has created a manga series too! :) However, judging from the description, it doesn’t seem to be a BL title. No wonder it missed the BL radar ^^;;;

While we’re at the topic of Kazuaki’s works, I remember I first took notice of her cover art for Kannou Mukashibanashi drama CDs cos of the very delicate, organic and distinct style.

I also recommend these series of drama CDs too, especially Vol. 2. Tales of Anderson and Vol. 4 Grimm Fairy Tales. The fairy tales included in Vol. 2 are: The Little Mermaid, The Little Match Girl, The Ice Queen, The Emperor’s New Clothes and in Vol. 4: The Frog Prince, Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel and Little Red Riding Hood.

One of the best things about these two volumes is the familiarity of the stories. So, even if you don’t understand much Japanese, you’ll have no problems following and enjoying them.

We get to listen to seiyuus such as Sakurai Takahiro, Miyano Mamoru, Yusa Kouji, Hatano Wataru, Toriumi Kousuke and Ishida Akira narrate these fairy tales and performing the characters in the story… and the interesting aspect of these CDs is that you feel as if you were there yourself lol~ and they make fantastic use of the speaker’s stereo effect. I probably should do a separate more detailed post about this series next time.

Sexy Fairy Tales for Adults
To experience it in full, you must listen to it in a quiet environment and then feel the hairs on the back of your neck rise when these lovely seiyuus whisper or breathe sexily into each one of your ears lol~ According to our voice guide in the series, Inoue Kazuhiko, these series of fairy tales were adapted for adults, so some of the situations in the fairy tales were given a more mature treatment.

It sure was delicious I tell ya… :3 I definitely felt Waccha’s burning passion as the prince in Rapunzel and ToriKou’s rather incestuous Hansel ^^;;; Oh yes, and not to forget, Sakurai Takahiro’s prince who slept with the Little Mermaid. Lol~lol~ Miyano Mamoru also put the sex into The Snow Queen woo~ and Yusa Kouji sure is a seductive and mysterious stranger who brought Little Match Girl to the other world…

Shocked? That’s right! We were all deceived as children!!! XD

And for those who missed listening to Ishida Akira as an uke in BL, his performance as Little Red Riding Hood is the closest you can get to it now :P

Guess what Military Shiki (Togainu no Chi) is thinking?

These mega Gift cuties were revealed at Wonderfest 2010 Summer! The date of release has not been confirmed yet… But judging from the prices of past plushies, the expected damage will probably be around 2800 Yen to 3500 Yen per plushie.

And an additional discovery besides figuring out the approximate size of Strap Youji (Sweet Pool) which is about 2/3 of an actual plushie… is that they are going to make Nitro+ mascot Super Sonico’s male counterpart into a plushie too. I’m not sure of his name but he sure looks cute! If I’m not wrong, his character design was first revealed in Nitro+Chiral’s Treasures artbook released in 2009.

Expected release date: Autumn 2010. The same period when Togainu no Chi anime will be broadcast! Are you tempted, Sigma?

Anyway, here’s a quick note about the figures. Apparently, they’re limited edition Code Geass figures that were offered to Newtype magazine readers in 2007 (2007年4月号ニュータイプ限定全員サービス 「ちびボイス猫耳ver．ルルーシュ＆スザク」). I found them on sale at Mandarake Japan and grabbed them for about 2000 Yen (+handling charge w/o shipping) Although they’re not new, they’re in perfect working condition. They’re powered by batteries and feature the voices of Fukuyama Jun (Lelouch) and Sakurai Takahiro (Suzaku).

These boys are my first chibi voice figures. I didn’t collect the rest of the Code Geass voice figures cos there were just too many to buy and if you add them up, seriously expensive.

However, when I saw the neko-mimi on this set of Lelouch and Suzaku, I couldn’t and didn’t want to resist… I love neko-mimi (cat ears)! And I really didn’t expect Lelouch and Sukazu to say something so moe for BL fangirls at all. It was a really pleasant surprise when I pressed their buttons lol~ If you noticed, on the stand, it was written. Newtype Romance! MEGA fan-service and it inspired this not very original manga lol~ (yeah as usual, yaoi cliches, lines stolen from BLCDs and I also repeated their BAKA! GOMEN! lines :3) While taking the photos, I realised how PERFECTLY their paws were placed and how they can be used to fantastic-BL-fangirl-mousou (妄想)-effect.

Oh well, this is definitely one of my BEST impulse buys ever! XD

Sakurai Yuki was abandoned right after he was born. Because of his past, Yuki strives for independence and hates being a burden to anyone.

I really love Odagiri-sensei’s early shounen-ai works but for UraBoku, I’m not sure if I have the patience to sit through this type of reincarnation story anymore *dodges rocks from fangirls*

So yeah, I admit haven’t read the manga. ^^;;;

Anyway, it is supposed to be a story with shounen-ai hints using the reincarnation plot device that I would consider quite typical in shoujo manga when they want to explain the BL bits. *shrugs* Should it be given the BL anime tag? Hmm… what do you think?

I’ll give it a try when it shows and see how it goes. I do love the lead Sakurai Takahiro and the other stellar seiyuu casts in the anime are very attractive too. But it’s giving me a very Vampire Knight kind of vibe. (*whispers* I dropped that anime after the first episode) *dodges more boulders* ^^;;;

Update 13 April 2010: I quite enjoyed the first episode cos boy Yuki is rather likable and the girl in his previous life seemed pretty cool too. The first episode also establishes the scene and main characters quite well. The “if I’m destined to die, then I want you to kill me” angsty plot-device is used to death already but it still works here ^^;;; From the vibe I get from the first episode, it also doesn’t feel pretentious and unbelievable like Vampire Knight’s anime (Vampires and humans in the same school… yeah right… =_= )

I think I’ll continue watching Uraboku anime and just enjoy it as an action shoujo work. But I can’t help but go mini-kyaaa in my heart during the expected scene where Sakurai Takahiro’s character rescues boy Yuki and hugged him while flying through the air in slow-motion lol~ I love Sakupyon <3
