Fans of mangaka Chayamachi Suguro (茶屋町 勝呂) probably already know that she’ll be releasing her very own artbook soon. It was delayed since July and is expected to be released finally on 1 October 2010.
In case you are unaware, she is the mangaka who illustrates Nitro+Chiral’s Togainu no chi and Lamento Beyond the Void manga. The artbook will contain her works and illustrations from the two titles.

A4, 264 pages with more than 200 full colour illustrations.
Kazuaki is currently one of the hottest illustrators right now, creating beautiful CD covers for the mega-popular Starry Sky series (Starry☆Sky), drama CDs such as Kannou Mukashibanashi (官能昔話), Persona, Vampire Kiss and many BL novels, etc. The artbook will contain some of her fan works of Lamento and Durarara!! too.
There are a couple of shops you can get it from. Comicomi, Mandarake (Ikebukuro), Amiami (sold out temporarily), Animaxis, Amazon Japan and CDJapan.
Both Comicomi and Mandarake only ship by EMS but they will come with an extra free bonus each: a postcard and special illustrated paper respectively.
The other 3 shops don’t have any bonus items.
As I did the post about her artbook, I just found out that she has created a manga series too! :) However, judging from the description, it doesn’t seem to be a BL title. No wonder it missed the BL radar ^^;;;

While we’re at the topic of Kazuaki’s works, I remember I first took notice of her cover art for Kannou Mukashibanashi drama CDs cos of the very delicate, organic and distinct style.
I also recommend these series of drama CDs too, especially Vol. 2. Tales of Anderson and Vol. 4 Grimm Fairy Tales. The fairy tales included in Vol. 2 are: The Little Mermaid, The Little Match Girl, The Ice Queen, The Emperor’s New Clothes and in Vol. 4: The Frog Prince, Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel and Little Red Riding Hood.

One of the best things about these two volumes is the familiarity of the stories. So, even if you don’t understand much Japanese, you’ll have no problems following and enjoying them.
We get to listen to seiyuus such as Sakurai Takahiro, Miyano Mamoru, Yusa Kouji, Hatano Wataru, Toriumi Kousuke and Ishida Akira narrate these fairy tales and performing the characters in the story… and the interesting aspect of these CDs is that you feel as if you were there yourself lol~ and they make fantastic use of the speaker’s stereo effect. I probably should do a separate more detailed post about this series next time.
Sexy Fairy Tales for Adults
To experience it in full, you must listen to it in a quiet environment and then feel the hairs on the back of your neck rise when these lovely seiyuus whisper or breathe sexily into each one of your ears lol~ According to our voice guide in the series, Inoue Kazuhiko, these series of fairy tales were adapted for adults, so some of the situations in the fairy tales were given a more mature treatment.
It sure was delicious I tell ya… :3 I definitely felt Waccha’s burning passion as the prince in Rapunzel and ToriKou’s rather incestuous Hansel ^^;;; Oh yes, and not to forget, Sakurai Takahiro’s prince who slept with the Little Mermaid. Lol~lol~ Miyano Mamoru also put the sex into The Snow Queen woo~ and Yusa Kouji sure is a seductive and mysterious stranger who brought Little Match Girl to the other world…
Shocked? That’s right! We were all deceived as children!!! XD
And for those who missed listening to Ishida Akira as an uke in BL, his performance as Little Red Riding Hood is the closest you can get to it now :P

Chayamachi’s Artbook is now released (they changed it to “9/10″)…problem is I dunno where to get it. I stupidly missed the one at Hobby Search because I didn’t even know that they opened the pre-orders for it. Augh, I totally want this book TAT

I’ve always love fairy tales!!! And thanks for your descriptions, I have succumbed to the realm of fantasy. LOL I am DEFINITELY going to check out the Mukashi Banashi cds now. Can’t wait to hear it~ <3

After listening to this mature version fairy tale, I also did a mini-research… apparently in the original Rapunzel fairy tale, the reason that she was kicked out by the witch was that she got pregnant! :P so those nightly visits by the prince were not as innocent as depicted in those picture storybooks at all ^^;;; and if you listened to this drama cd, it’s like *cough*, you’re Rapunzel and Waccha is getting it on with you lol~
