The Okumura brothers are from one of my favourite animes, Aoi no Exorcist, based on a manga by Kazue Katou. In the anime, Rin is voiced by Okamoto Nobuhiko 岡本信彦 and Yukio’s seiyuu is Fukuyama Jun 福山潤.
Update 30 July 2012. Wonderfest Summer July 2012 coloured prototype displays! Megahouse definitely nailed the sculpt. They’ll be including a normal face Rin with this figure too.

Woohoo~ prototypes of both boys are out!
Rin’s prototype was first revealed in Wonderfest Winter in February 2012. And now Yukio’s sculpt is out! Gosh they look gorgeous! :D

Summary (from wiki):
The story revolves around Rin Okumura, a teenager possessing abnormal strength and endurance who, along with his younger twin brother Yukio, was raised by Father Shiro Fujimoto. Soon after Yukio departs to study at the prestigious True Cross Academy, Rin learns that he is the son of Satan, the strongest of all demons. Witnessing Shiro dying to protect him, Rin ends up doing what his guardian asked him never to do: draw the demon-slaying blade Kurikara, which restrains his demonic powers, from its scabbard. From that moment on, Rin not only gains permanent demonic features like fangs, pointed ears, fiery “horns” and a tail, but also the power to ignite himself into blue flames that can destroy almost anything they touch…
If you haven’t watched the anime or read the manga, I highly recommend you do so! :D It’s one of those rare stories where plot is interesting, characters are fun, adorable and very importantly, female characters are not annoying! :D Many heartwarming and comedic moments as well. Makes me miss my time in school too ^^;; And the seiyuu cast in the anime is also quite the dream, starring Nakai Kazuya, Kaji Yuki, Ono Daisuke, Kamiya Hiroshi, Yusa Kouji, Fujiwara Keiji and more… don’t miss it!
Although I don’t actually ship the brothers as a couple, their fanart is amazing and I quite enjoy them lol. Their coupling sure is popular! And Rin is like overall uke to everybody else lol~ a “Everyone x Rin” harem. Kind of like Everybody x Natsume harem (Natsume Yuujin Chou) and Everybody x Kuroko harem (Kuroko no Basket) :D

Ah noes, I wasn’t paying attention to their date releases… Rin’s for december… that month for me is terrible! Already preordered Junjou Romantica manga with DVD (too pricey for a 20 min anime, thinking of cancel it) and PoT one coins, but soon Hisoka will be up for PO, and I’m a big HxH fan, can’t miss him! And that tag price of Rin makes everything worse. Don’t wanna miss him, and always think they can be sold out. Maybe I’ll try to get him and Yukio in January. They both look amazing!
@planck-chan: I preordered the JR DVD too! I’ll also have to be careful of what else I order now if I want to be able to afford all these boys orz;; Cos like you said, they look amazing! I also have the 2 Evangelion boys RAH on preorder already. WILL BE BROKE.

@dandycorsets: I’ll definitely get him for my collection! I want both boys :D but I’m holding out the preorders for now cos upcoming goods and stuff that will be released towards the end of the year. Although I don’t know what they are yet ^^;; Megahouse male figures rarely sells out (and even if they do, they get restocked within 3-6 months)

@pony it’s true that in 2011 almost all megahouse figures went on sale. but now, for 2012, i havent seen any on sale :/
shiroyasha, saitou, shisho, kamui, and idk who else, were all released in 2012. non went on sale Q.Q
i know that shiroyasha and saitou are sold out now… and im not sure if u should just buy kamui from plamoya (30% discount)… or wait for amiami to put it on sale… (currently, 21% discount but it can drop to 40 or 45%)
SIGH… decisions decisions.. :/
@Shirokaze: I remember seeing Elric and Zero Lelouch going for 30% and below this year. Maybe the Gintama boys are very much in demand in Japan so they have no problems selling them. So far the Gintama figures don’t seduce me in the way some of the other figures do, much as I love the anime. You gotta monitor the prices daily I guess.

I have to say Yukio looks ALOT better than Rin here.
I am not a fan of the anime, but I used to think Rin looked better. Yukio has a fat face in the anime >_<

I am NOT a fan of that series (too many girls in that anime!!) but the Kagura figure is super uuuber HOT!!

@Shirokaze: I found him much slimer than the illustration he is based on. Maybe it is supposed to look better this way but I like it that the proportion in the illustration is more manly.
About the neck… I think it depends on the angle you look at him. I think generally he looks pretty good.

Yeah. I think my sister would like these figures. She’s a big fan of Ao no Exorcist and she really likes Rin and Yukio. She thinks Yukio is hot. Probably if they make the other Ao no Exorcist characters figures maybe they will look good. They did a good job with Rin and Yukio. Have you ever watched the show or read the manga? ^ – ^

megahouse figures typically drop in price? really 0_o???
@iced_wine: yeah so far the biggest drop I’ve seen is the Full Metal Alchemist one with discount up to 40%++? Lelouch Zero figure also dropped to 30% or more.
good news….although the popularity of this series and these two characters make me kind of nervous about holding off pre-ordering……
hope these two come cheaper….with these and the aoba figures…omg….

so crazy! i want more figures at that price! lol
@shirokaze: right…i feel like if there are multiple figures for one character, then the price tend to drop, like the yune nendo, which got released within a month or two with its other two nendo petits, and is now going for about 50% of its original price, but so far megahouse is the only one doing scaled figures for rin and yukio besides phone straps and the half age figures, so i don’t know how their sale will play out, so far as there being enough stock left over to prompt a price reduction.
@iced_wine: I think the anime that Yune was based on isn’t that widely popular compared to the mainstream shonen ones like AoE. I’m not too surprised to see her price drop that much. Well, let’s wait and see :D who knows what other figures are going to have a surprise release next season.

I liked the anime, didn't love it, but I'm excited to see their coloured protoypes. Hopefully they will be even more amazing. Their hair and clothes are really nicely done, very dynamic. :D
@kei: they made good use of their coats and tail to give us dynamic poses even though the boys don’t have long hair hehe Excited to see their colored versions soon.

I saw Kotetsu, but I don’t like the way they rendered his proportions… I’m happy with my old figure :3
GEM series always bring us awesome guys, along with Altair line and Kotobukiya! Okumura brothers are a must buy for me! I’m also tempted by Hisoka (cos I’m a big Hunter x Hunter fan and I’m grabbing Killua, also Gon and Kurapika in the future) and Athrun (maybe they can do Yamato Kira in the future, so the OTP will be together! XD).
You touch one point, seiyuu cast! Firstly I didn’t recognized Rin’s seiyuu, but then I saw he’s Nobuhiko Okamoto that usually does cute characters like Kisa from Sekaiichi Hatsukoi or recently, Seiji on Sakamichi no Apollon, it really surprised me. I love hear Nakai Kazuya, he always sounds badass and hilarious at the same time! The cast is quite amazing. Ah, have you seen Shirokuma Cafe? Ubberly cute and a super star seiyuu cast!

I’m watching Sakamichi no Apollon and Shirokuma Cafe too <3 Hehehe but I don't think I'll buy the figures of Shirokuma cafe if they every come up with them? lololol XDD The seiyuu cast sure is awesome and having them voice these animals are such fun!
@ponytale Yeah, about Shirokuma, I wouldn’t buy scale figures too, but some cute plushies… difficult to resist! I love penguins, and a sweet lazy panda like that, and still there’s llama, they’re so tempting! Also I see people shipping Grizzly x Shirokuma! XDDDDD No matter if they are animals (ok, they’re both bears anyway hahaha), those two get along together pretty well.
This season has such nice shows, Tsuritama, Shirokuma, Kuroko, Sakamichi, Saint Seiya Omega, with plenty of fanservice for us and great seiyuus. Also good stories, that matter.

So getting these!! Megahouse has gotten so much of my $ and shelf space since they started the G.E.M. series figures and these look great.
